Lightweight and easily installed and removed
Since the 1940s, Martin-Baker has been the world leader in the design and production of aircraft seating systems that prevent injuries and fatalities caused by accidents. Our seat products are found in all types of commercial and military aircraft. Utility Seat (Crash Attenuating Troop Seat System) was originally certified to FAA requirements for the S-92 application and was later qualified to meet Navy and Marine Corps specifications for the CH-53E.
The Utility Seat is designed to a tailored Navy specification modified to reflect the latest military personnel size and weight criteria. It is certified for side-facing installations and attaches to the wall. The lightweight Utility Seat can be quickly and easily installed and removed by releasing two spring loaded plungers. An optional single point release system is available. This allows rapid removal of the seat if there is a need to install it in an egress path such as a window. It has a folding sitting platform that locks in the up position. All fabrics are hard wearing materials proven in the combat environment. A four point harness is provided and is compatible with a rotary buckle or a lift flap buckle. The seat has been environmentally tested to military standards. This lightweight seat has a small space claim and meets the needs of high-density seating applications.
