PRODUCT SUPPORT
Martin-Baker has a long history of commitment to in-service product support and continues to supply spares to more than 90 air forces worldwide. We produce spares for all seat types in service, ranging from the latest design to legacy systems which have been in service for over 40 years.
Supporting International Customers
From spare parts to full, integrated support packages, Martin-Baker provides reliability, maintainability, safety, logistics and all other support functions to our range of international customers.
In addition to providing in-service support concepts that are tailored to suit each customer, we are developing spares-usage mathematical models to predict both scheduled and unscheduled requirements.
Historic Product Policy
Martin-Baker defines any ejection seat no longer operating in its original military role as a Historic Product. Historic Products are often out of service for an extended period. Once Martin-Baker is aware of a product being removed from service in its original military role, so far as Martin-Baker is concerned, all the activities required to maintain the product in service cease and these products become unsupported.
A Historic Product that is then re-purposed by others with another operator will be unsupported until all the activities required to allow safe operation with a new operator are assessed and any resulting corrective actions completed [and agreed and confirmed in writing as such by Martin-Baker]. In many cases the assessment will result in in a permanent unsupported status for such Historic Product.
Escape System (Ejection Seat) Supported Configurations
Martin-Baker continues to provide support for ejection seats, some of which have been in-service (in their original military role) for over 40 years. However, this support is limited to those platforms for which Martin-Baker can continue to maintain the necessary level of Engineering & Technical competency to safely provide these services. Products may also be designated as Historic where competency cannot be maintained for reasons such as obsolescence, being out of service for a period of time, or failure to maintain in accordance with Martin-Baker instructions.

Whether a configuration can be supported is wholly dependent upon Martin-Baker’s ability to provide Spares, Technical Enquiry support, Technical Publications, Airworthiness & Safety Management. As such, Martin-Baker cannot and does not commit to a full level of support for every platform identified above. It is the operator’s responsibility to confirm in advance that the configuration they intend to use is supported.
Field Service
Our Field Service Engineers can be deployed to customer facilities during all phases of the design life for the escape system. From performing trial installations to assisting with initial integration, Martin-Baker is committed to helping the customer at all stages of the design, development through to production.
