Since the 1940s, Martin-Baker has been the world leader in the design and production of aircraft seating systems that prevent injuries and fatalities caused by accidents. Our seat products are found in all types of commercial and military aircraft. The Troop and Gunner seats were designed and developed to meet the new improved crash requirements of the UH60M Blackhawk using Martin-Baker’s patented energy attenuation technology.
Both seats are designed and tested to MIL-S-85510 using the latest military standards for occupant size and weight. The troop seat is qualified for fore and aft facing installations. The gunner seat is qualified for side facing installations. Both seats incorporate a fold-up sitting platform with a hardwearing sitting sling. The gunner seat is fitted with 3 accelerations sensing MA-16 type inertia reels and a stand-up harness that allows the user 48” of webbing payout to manoeuvre around the cabin.
Both seats are integrated to a floor-to-ceiling pole structure. The lower pole fitting attaches to floor studs and upper fittings attach to ceiling interface points with quick release fittings. Installation and removal take less than one minute and no tools are required.
