Bremont and Martin-Baker have collaborated to design and build the ultimate aviation watch that will embody all that is meant by ‘Made in Britain’.

As the pioneer of the ejection seat, Martin-Baker represents the pinnacle of British engineering. The partnership has combined Martin-Baker’s knowledge of testing, materials and design with Bremont’s watchmaking skills. Our aim was to challenge conventional mechanical watch design by applying standards that truly define ‘a matter of life and death’.

The Ultimate Aviation Watch

Martin-Baker first approached Bremont to create the definitive aviation watch in 2007. More than simply putting a logo on an existing model, the watch had to withstand the same rigorous testing programme as the ejection seats themselves. Two years later, the Bremont MBI was born. The limited edition MBI remains solely for pilots who have ejected from an aircraft using a Martin-Baker seat whereas the MBII and MBIII are available to all. The MB Range is a must-have for any serious collector. It has been put through the same intensive, extensive testing schedule that the ejection seats go through.

The Tie Club Exclusive – MB I

The Bremont MBI is a unique and bespoke watch available to Martin-Baker ejectees only and can be quickly identified by its red aluminium barrel. Every watch is engraved with a personal engraving of up to 10 digits consisting of their call sign, name, or date, and will feature the individual’s Martin-Baker Tie Club membership number. A CONCEPT WATCH COMES TO LIFE

MB VIPER

To test Bremont’s manufactured movement series, the ENG300, Bremont created a concept test instrument to put it through the most extreme testing environment, equalling that of fighter ejection seat technology.

Enlisting the support of Martin-Baker it would have to be designed, developed and built to endure anything a pilot might and more. The test instrument that was developed captured the imagination of both Bremont and Martin-Baker who have subsequently decided to launch it in its own right, and so was born the Limited Edition MB Viper, a lightweight model crafted from titanium and anodised aluminium.

The ultimate pilot’s watch – MBII

The second edition of the watch, Bremont MB2, will be available for sale alongside the full range of Bremont watches, but, as with all Bremont timepieces, the annual production will be very limited.

The movement is assembled at Bremont’s atelier in Switzerland, but final assembly of the watches takes place in the UK. The MB1 and MB2 are Bremont’s first ‘Made in Britain’ wristwatch.
