MK16A NXG for Typhoon
Upgrading the Eurofighter Typhoon to the latest in Ejection Seat technology
Over 869 Mk16A Ejection Seats currently in service
5 lives saved to date using the Mk16A Ejection Seat
The Mk16A was purposely designed to meet the demanding requirements of the Eurofighter Typhoon specification in 1988. The twin-tube ejection gun enabled greater integration with the Typhoon cockpit while meeting the latest physiological requirements of the time.
The Mk16A NXG is a further upgrade of the Mk16A introducing technology developed for the US16E for F-35 programme. This enables safe ejection for aircrew equipped the latest helmet mounted displays (HMD) across the mass and size ranges.
