My name is Kevin Horner I served as a End-Tech-W in the RAF from Mar 1981 – Oct 2003. My first job involving Seats was as a pin monkey on 228 OCU Phantoms and the Mk 7 seat. I then spent the majority of my career on first line Tornado Sqns 111, 1435, 31 and finally XV. I always loved doing seat work, the amount of responsibility in getting everything right, knowing this could well be the pilots last chance in an emergency. It was a great sense of teamwork from the guys in the bay who serviced the seats to the guys on first and second line that fitted and removed them.
