FLTLT Sean Singleton-Turner, RAAF. On the 22 Nov 1992, while on exchange with RNZAF, I took a BAC167 Strikemaster (NZ6368) for a post-maintenance test flight. One of the required checks was spin characteristics and recovery. I entered a spin at 20000 ft and could not get the aircraft to recover. I ejected at 10000 ft (approximately 8500 agl) and came down not far from the wreckage on farmland. I received only minor back and facial injuries and, thanks to Martin-Baker, served another few years with the RAAF before a long airline career.
