Martin-Baker joins the herd: Selecting our design for the ‘Trunks across the Thames’ Art Trail
Martin-Baker is delighted to announce its participation in the upcoming ‘Trunks across the Thames’ art trail, organised by Thames Hospice. On January 21st 2026, representatives from Martin-Baker joined over 100 supporters at a vibrant artist selection evening to choose the design that will represent them on the trail.

The event, held at Thames Hospice, showcased 80 stunning elephant designs, which were carefully shortlisted from 300 entries submitted by local and national artists. Martin-Baker had the exciting task of reviewing the gallery and selecting their top three favourites.
“Martin-Baker is proud to support Thames Hospice’s Trunks Across the Thames and be part of a project that will bring so much pleasure to our local community. The selection evening was a great way to view the submissions from the exceptionally talented artists, and we’re delighted with our shortlist. This initiative follows our continued collaboration with Thames Hospice, including recent Apprentice and Graduate engagement activities, and reflecting our commitment to supporting the charity’s vital mission of providing compassionate, high‑quality care for local families.”
Marc Glavill, Head of Academy at Martin-Baker
“This project simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible commitment of our sponsors and supporters, and it was truly wonderful to have everyone together in one room to celebrate this milestone. By matching our partners with their favourite pieces, we are officially starting the process of bringing this art to life for everyone to enjoy. This is where the magic begins.”
Jess Seymour, Project Manager for Trunks across the Thames
Following the selection night, Martin-Baker will soon be officially paired with their artist. The final sculpture will join a parade of uniquely decorated elephants that will form a spectacular public art trail through Slough and Windsor in, raising vital funds for the specialist care provided by Thames Hospice.
