During DSEI tradeshow in London on 12th September, 2013, Martin-Baker participated in a Lockheed Martin Industry Recognition Event. Philip Dunne, Minister of Defence Equipment, Support and Technology, also attended the event. “The F-35 is the largest defence programme in the world. The U.K.’s involvement will generate billions of pounds and tens of thousands of jobs for the British economy for decades to come, with over 500 suppliers across the U.K. already contributing to the production of the F-35”.

Martin-Baker was among 12 other companies to receive an award to recognise the support and involvement in the F-35 Programme. The other companies to also receive an award included: BAE Systems, Cobham, EDM, GE Aviation, Honeywell, MBDA, RE Thompson, Rolls-Royce, Selex ES Ltd, Survitec Group, Ultra Electronics and UTC Aerospace Systems.

The JSF programme will sustain approximately 700 jobs at Martin-Baker into the future, also supporting 66 sub-tier suppliers located within 20 counties spread right across the UK.
