Our latest venture, Martin-Baker Australia, has facilities just outside of Newcastle for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work on the F-35A. While our MRO experts are there to primarily work the 5th-generation fighter, the Australia team also supports all Australian Defence Force platforms offering a quick and efficient service.

Supporting Australian Defence platforms

Martin-Baker Australia is the regional MRO and upgrade center for JSF aircraft and its associated support equipment. Based at Australia’s main operating base for F-35, our MRO facilities offer quick and efficient service and training.

As well as the 5th generation fighter, Martin-Baker Australia represents other Australian defence platforms such as F/A-18, EA-18, Hawk, PC-9 and PC-21. Pilatus awarded Martin-Baker with the MRO contract for PC-21 ejection seats and canopies in 2018.

Training For The Region

Martin-Baker Australia’s training facilities encompass crucial aspects of aircrew escape and ejection seat maintenance training.

Parasim® – A virtual reality simulator, familiarising occupants with the feeling of hanging from a parachute and with what actions they must do prior to landing.
Post Ejection Survival Training (PEST) – Aircrew are trained in post-ejection procedures to ensure their survival prior to recovery.
Post Ejection Recovery Training (PERT) – Teaching maintainers how to properly safe the seat post-ejection.
