Phil Uttley

I started working on Tornado’s in 1884 on 27 Sqn at RAF Marham. Part of my job was to fit and remove Mk10 Ejection Seats and associated canopy components. At first, removal and fitting was done with splitting the seat (quite back breaking) and this was done until 1996 when I was part of the first team to remove the seat as a whole when the canopy was removed. That was the last time I removed seats from the mighty Tornado. I retired from the RAF in may 2018 and now work for BAE Systems in Sadi Arabia.
