Maintainers

Chris Wasson

I joined the Royal Australian Air Force in 1987 as an apprentice Armament Fitter. My first experience with Martin Baker seats was during my training where I was trained on the OM6 seats fitted to R.A.A.F Mirage aircraft.

During my career I gained experience on other various egress systems which included the crew module fitted to the R.A.A.F F111.

I again gained experience on Martin Baker products when employed on the R.A.A.F F/A-18. During this time I carried out fitment/removal and servicing of the SJU-9/A and 10/A seats and associated components.

After leaving the R.A.A.F in 1997 I began employment with BAE Systems Australia employed on Royal Saudi Airforce Tornado aircraft and underwent initial familiarisation on Mk 10 seats and annual recertification safety and familiarisation until leaving KSA in 2017.

I am currently employed by BAE Systems Australia on the Hawk 127 aircraft and carry out fitment/removal, arming/disarming and build up of Martin Baker Aus 10 seats.

Being associated with these products for over 33yrs has been a highlight of my career, knowing the safety of our aircrew are in the best hands.
