My name is Adrian Ramos. I am an AME3 currently stationed in VAQ-129 soon to transfer to VFA-103. Going into boot camp I had no clue what the AME rate was even about. I didn’t know until A school that it was about ejection seats. It was a bit intimidating at first but once i finally got my hands on experience I loved every second of it. My favorite part of my job is de-arming and arming the seats. There’s a lot of steps and guidelines that need to be followed closely but I love every second of it. There is a genuine feeling of accomplishment when you know that pilots can fly safely and successfully thanks to your own hard work and the impressive mechanics of the ejection seat.
