On November 19, 1967, on a combat air patrol south and west of Haiphong Vietnam I encountered hostile fire from North Vietnamese air forces. My F4 was hit and disabled forcing my ejection from the aircraft. After a successful ejection I was captured by enemy forces and spent 5 plus years as a POW in various camps in North Vietnam. Thanks to the Martin-Baker ejection seat I am alive today and I have untold respect and thankfulness for the Martin-Baker team and technology. My MB tie number is 4493 and I am proud to be one of your recipients.
