I started working on Ejection Seats during training with ex RAF Lightnings and Royal Navy Sea Vixens. I always remember the Instructors drilling into us that it was an Ejection Seat and NOT an Ejector Seat.
Following Training I worked on Hunter T7’s and Buccaneer S2A and S2B at RAF Honington. It was then onto Bruggen briefly with the Jaguar and then the Tornado GR1. Finally and my favorite was the Phantom FG1’s of 43(F) Sqn at Leuchars. Lots of late nights, Seat Pan in, Seat Pan out.
